Re: 1984 KR250 A1 - Pistons

The Beet kit was 310cc and they used the standard KE175D pistons with standard, unmodified KR crank and rods. The standard KE175D pistons are 62.5mm diameter. See my earlier post.

Re: Front caliper mounting centres

While I haven't measured them I'd say Suzuki GSXR (non-radial) and some early Hayabusa ones are 92mm as well then, as they are meant to fit on RGV vj22/23 forks. Cheers, Markus. You are correct Markus, the early GSXR and Busa six pot calipers bolt straight on RGV 21, 22 and 23 forks. Correct offset...

Re: 1984 KR250 A1 - Pistons

I discovered that Beet used to make a 310cc kit for the KR250. They used a KE175D piston. All piston measurements are exactly the same except for the diameter and probably weight. The windows and ring pins are also in the correct place. You must use thrust washers on either side of the small end tho...

Try this one for solo seat units:

If you are in Sydney, there is a 3XV at Scotts Motorcycles.
Luke and Trevor are two stroke nuts and would be more than happy to help you:

Hey Adam,
Check out this mob:

http://sp-retro.com/topics.html

They might cost a bit more than the ebay ones but at least they will fit straight on and look very modern. Also remeber that if you get painted fairings and try to modify them to fit, you may damage the paintwork.

Re: What tyres to get for an RZ500?

The standard RG500 tyre sizes are:
Front- 110/90 16
Rear- 120/90 17

The Lasertec's are available if you substitute the rear for 130/80 17.

Correct sizes are available for RZ500.
