As for the Mito, she's All done. Just needs the rich jetting (1/2-WOT) sorted then she's good for a trackday test

Re: KTMito 380
Been quietly busy since my last post. Made a crankshaft starting system so that the bike can be fired up using a handheld starter motor. Got my forks straightened, re-valved, re-sprung and serviced. They feel great now. Just need to spit these 3 parts out on a CNC machine after new years and then I'...

Re: KTM 380 - rebuild req'd? Help a 2T n00b.
measure it again with a little torque, you might find that the thicker gasket squashes down 0.1mm and gives you zero :) If you cant compress it down by torquing the following may be helpful: firstly, +/- .1mm will do sweet f-all to your port timing. But more importantly it will alter your squish. wh...

Re: KTM 380 - rebuild req'd? Help a 2T n00b.
yeah, ive never used a torque wrench in my life.
Tight, but not so sight that your going to break the base of the cylinder! you'd have to really be trying hard to do that though.

Re: KTM 380 - rebuild req'd? Help a 2T n00b.
another trick is this. put the clip in the hole at an angle so that is completely within the gudgeon pin hole, but just not lined up/straight. as it doesnt need inserting straight its a piece of cake Then, using the old gudgeon pin (from the old piston), slide this down the hole and use it to drive ...

Re: KTMito 380
confirmed, forks bent.
2mm on the upper, 2.5mm on the lower
Luckily I didnt send it for a rebuild as it would have been 300 bucks down the drain
Luckily lozza has a spare RHS fork which he is going to check straightness of and let me have for a reasonable amount

Re: KTMito 380

I did a quick search on google for 'forks stuck' and of all the results to pop up, most we from the aprilia forum with people who had seized bushes and seals.
Maybe ill be in luck!
Ill keep you all posted.
