Re: RZ250 Front Fork Springs free length

The 23141 in the part numbers says that the part is a fork spring. The trailing 00 is the revision number. The leading three characters are the model number. 31K is the original RZ350. 51L is a later RZ250. 1UA was the RZ350 with the rectangular headlight and full fairing. The PD valve sits under th...

If you find that you need new chain and sprockets you should convert to 520.

Re: New Melbourne member about to rebuild a 1981 RD250LC

Service the front brake and replace the original brake line with a braided one (original rubber one has service life of 8 years). Remove the centre stand. When I next race mine I will be fitting Avon AM26 Race 90/90x18 front and rear tyres. They are a bit pricey but they are the correct fit for the ...

Re: RZ250/350 YPVS Tyre choices

BT46 is the new replacement for BT45.
Go with the tyre size that is ideal for the rim size. ie. 2.15" and 2.50".
90/90-18 51H and 110/80-18 58H

Re: Parts interchangeability - DT175 in this case but a general topic

As far as I know the Yamaha DT175 is the most common 2 stroke ever. I loved my DTs at the time but the ITs do it for me these days. My current Vinduro weapon is an IT125 which shares a lot with the DTs. Phill's IT125 is based on the DT175 engine I gave him. Later DT175 engines will take the 1977 to ...

Re: RZ 350 cylinder... 31K or 1UA, left or right... anything?

Justin changed his mind and is not going ahead with the RZ engine.
But I may assemble mine anyway. It only needs gear clusters and clutch case.
It has new crank and PROX 250cc pistons and rings and rebore.

Re: Best cable lube? And any methods

I love my favourite Wurth products.
Maintenance Spray, Rost Off Plus, Rubber Care, electrical tape, etc,
I have the Wurth 91 piece tool kit in the boot.
And a couple of weeks ago I bumped into the Wurth rep and she gave me the 2020 calendar. Woo Hoo.
