The Unrideables 1 & 2 on YouTube

Someone kindly posted these links on the PSB forum so thought I'd copy them across here in case anyone hasn't seen them - the 2nd in the series was only recently released a month or so ago. These are so so so so so so so so sooooooo GOOD!! Made me want to go out to the garage and start revving one o...

Re: My 1986 RZ250

Interesting Jon! I wonder if Yamaha Japan issued a kit to convert slow shifting stock then? Possibly for the home market that they made available over here? From memory the instruments on the naked RZ differed from the faired in that the idiot lights ran along the bottom under the speedo / tacho co...

Re: My 1986 RZ250

Jon, I've just had on of those moments of clarity that seem to occur less and less as I grow older... I'm on holiday in Fiji with the family and after my last post decided to go to he gym to sweat out all the overindulged food I've been scoffing over here whilst I can't play with anything bike relat...

Re: My 1986 RZ250

One more thing - are we talking about the blue ones?? I've only ever seen the round headlight blue RZ's (with the fairing) never any other colours.

Re: My 1986 RZ250

I'm pretty certain the round headlight F2's that we're available in Aus were specials put together by Yamaha Aus to get rid of the stock of naked RZ250's, hence they round headlight as they utilised the existing headlight on the naked bike in a top fairing designed to take it. I really like the styl...

Re: Yamaha RZ250 Seat Hook

Did you find one PKay? I may have one in my cache of spares as I have 3 x seats for my RZ (know I don't known why). Will have to have a look but on holiday away from home at the moment so can't check.

Re: RDLC EBay Brisbane Blue?

Those Canadian WW 500's are as rare as the seller says and I know they have gone for around the $20k mark previously. They were the only full power WW RG500's to be exported from memory and it's why they had the same normal white faced RG clocks and no fuel gauge like the JDM bikes do. Still makes y...

Re: Leaking / blown crank seal on my little KR?

The pipe sounds like its full of fuel due to a leaking float valve and general lack of riding and transport by truck etc. I would be inclined to take top he pipe off and empty it out and refit and give the bike a flogging down the road to blow the rest out. Having said that after 30 years your cran...

Re: Leaking / blown crank seal on my little KR?

Thanks Geasemeup! It's a lovely little machine, engine is very smooth and the bikes rides be nice on the road.

One thing I neglected to mention is that despite the oil in the exhaust it's not oiling the plug up on that cylinder at all which I thought it would do if a crank seal went?

Leaking / blown crank seal on my little KR?

Hi all, hoping someone here with a little more experience in these matters might be able to confirm what I believe must be a leaking crank seal on the front cylinder of my KR250. The bike is a low km (4,900) jap import and clearly the engine has never been touched. I've been slowly recommissioning t...
