RS250 NX? Clutch

I have located a rogue clutch assembly - Basket, Drum and pressure plate (no fibre or steel plates) amongst my box of Yamaha spares. Not being a Honda aficionado, my searching has initially identified them as being from a Honda RS250 NX5/NXA. Hoping someone can confirm this from the following photos...

Re: Ebay x 2 x LC's

A friend & I were looking at a joint purchase and that is about what we would have bid, maybe a little more but we both wisely decided not to. It would have allowed my road LC to be finished but would have left me with another part finished bike which would just snowball. Its a good price for wh...

Re: RZ or Banshee cranks into LC cases

Steve at the TSS used to sell offset circlips for this purpose. The other option is to machine the difference off the bearing inner and outer race to bring it back in line, as mentioned above.

Re: RZ or Banshee cranks into LC cases

I agree, for commercial reasons the cost of the tooling to do cases might be repaid over a period of time. But the circlip on the drive side bearing will still be a problem as its position is dictated by crank width. That means a special offset circlip, or re cutting the groove in the cases. The bear...

Re: RZ or Banshee cranks into LC cases

No pics sorry......... The secret is to machining the webs down (and its only the outside raised ring ouch !) gaffa tape the rods to stop them flailing around on the lathe, running it with a live centre on the slowest speed. Fill the bearings up with grease to catch the swarf. A mandrel is required ...

leaves the opposition for dead once de restricted.

Unfortunately that is not as simple as the competition..............but worth it. A very strong motor compared to other fragile stuff out there.

Re: banshee crank in air cooled rd.?

The LC crank is wider on the drive side and interferes with the clutch cover from memory

Re: aftermarket front end ideas?

The fork spacing is generally wider, so that alieviates the cooling issue but that may cause interference with the tank unless you reduce the steering lock

I have fitted RWU ZX9 forks and triples to my spare LC but I did have to reconstruct the steering tube and bearing races to accept them

Re: stem swap question

There may also be circlips = press the stem the opposite way slightly to create enough clearance to get the circlip out

Re: RZ or Banshee cranks into LC cases

machining of the outer flywheels, the ignition side bearing outer race and either an offset circlip or machining of the drive side bearing inner & outer races. Alternatively the cases can be shaved for clearance but this is more involved and requires more set up and work. Some cranks will fit in...

Re: My Latest LC Project

Back in manufacturing mode.......................... The rear wheel needed to be centred and an assortment of spacers for using the R6 rear calliper mount. First off the wheel was fitted with new bearings, one in the brake side hub and two in the drive side hub. The wheel was offered up with a pair ...

Re: My Latest LC Project

Finally found a bit of time to do a bit more to this project in between jobs. Having seen what Pludmugger did with his LC special on the RDLCCRAZY forum I tried a few seats that I had knocking around for inspiration. I liked his use of the TZ250 4TW seat has its swoopy lines work well with the std L...
