Re: Cheap Freight From the USA

Yep, that's true but we pay gst every single time we put our hands in our pockets, which is additional to all the income tax that we pay as well. My beef has been that eBay has always booked its Australian revenue as being earned from Singapore and therefore not taxable in Australia. They've never p...

Re: Cheap Freight From the USA

Hmm. That's one part of the puzzle in place then, at least as it relates to fees. I'm sure well see more come 1 July. On the other side of that coin, at least eBay is obviously having to declare that fee income as earned in Australia, as opposed to their previous arrangements of booking the income i...

Re: Cheap Freight From the USA

Hey. Look over there!.... Modus operandi of the political class these days. I suspect we're not hearing the whole story because, a) its not going to work out very well for us, and b) they haven't actually worked it out yet. I can see the whole thing turning out to be a disaster spurning whole office...

Re: Cheap Freight From the USA

So, its yet another ballsup from the Eleventy Joe and Wingnut era... Well done fellas. I haven't bothered bringing much in from the US lately with the exchange rate the way it is, but I did bring a guitar body in a couple of weeks ago using the new eBay International Postage system, and it got a bit...

Re: Newly Acquired RZ 350

All good points Jon. Times are certainly changing. Mind you, for those of us who've been privately importing all manner of shit from all over the world through eBay etc for the past 15 years, its been a wonderful journey!

Re: Cagiva Mito

A bloke in Lismore has had a yellow one out on the footpath a couple of times on the weekend over the past month. I've been too busy to stop and check it out, but it looks pretty tidy. He's got $2800 on it.

Remind me to check next weekend, and I'll try get you a number.

Great link Ozzy. Cheers. She's a brilliant speaker and makes a lot of sense. But, Too often public debate is stifled by cries of racism etc when it is not racist to criticize a religion for an obvious fault. Ditto aboriginals. That recent cartoon that caused issues I think caused embarrassment rathe...

Re: Green on a Yamaha?

The first one would look better crashed. The second one is kinda sexy - shame about the colour. And the third one reminds me of a Splice ice cream.

No, don't go green GMU.

Brian looks like fun. It's not everyday you get to meet a tiny pink elephant. :)

Re: RD350 Project

Yeah, I've started with an original '73 B loom, (which is actually in pretty good condition despite its age) but adapting later C model switch gear plus other bits and pieces, and relocating the main components down the back somewhere, but it will still largely be the original loom. The C model swit...
