Re: 83 rz350 track bike build

Hi Gman,
The photo of your chambers have solved my mystery.

The RZ350 I recently purchased has a set of these. Are the any good for road use, or a pain to use on the street ?

Regards
Dave

Re: Please ignore - blonde moment

Thanks for reminding me of this. Bike came without air box, and forgot about the air box being the battery holder as well.
As the new title says.....

Re: 85 RZ rebuild

Matt,
Used the powder and liquid to rebuild a few tabs on my bikes. Hard to tell they have been repaired. Takes a few days to harden properly.

See that you are a welder...mate you won't have an issue using this stuff. As you well know prep is the key.

Re: 85 RZ rebuild

Just reciprocating Darwin. I am trying to keep this build within realistic costs by avoiding over-priced items and tools you will only use once or twice, and never see value in buying them. Sure my bikes may not win concours prizes, but most blokes will say f##k that's a pretty cool old bike, and be...

Re: 85 RZ rebuild

I repaired the hole by placing re-enforcing tape on inside and glued in place with the liquid abs. Once set, masking tape on the inside to shape of fairing. Get a small glass bottle (something like food colouring bottle) and put in powder. Add liquid monomer and shake. Add liquid until you get a nic...

Re: 85 RZ rebuild

Thanks to BRG, picked up a really good ductail, the missing fairings, and a few other goodies, that have really helped me. Anyway, will restore cosmetically back to factory. Have a compressor and gun. Should have painted in the next few weeks. Mechanically though, we will see...it has been a track b...

85 RZ rebuild

Some of you might have seen one of my first posts 'pregnant fuel tank' Anyway, another forum member has asked me if I would post a rebuild post so here goes. The bike is a original 85 Rz350 with matching frame and engine nos. Photo is how I purchased it. Will update when I get time to organise and s...

Re: Rz rear shock upgrade.

Thanks for confirming Jon...
Yeah spotted those on cms...very good price.

Was going to wait until I had worked out what Norbo could and couldn't supply then do a split order. Might have to just order and cop the freight in case these are the last ones available.

Re: Rz rear shock upgrade.

It's an 85 model. The shock Jon is referring to is the 86 onwards, I assume. Also want to replace the shock in my 83 as well. Apart from not having the "Silly" belt adjuster, I would imagine it would work perfectly. By all means, correct me if I am wrong. The standard suspension on my 83, ...

Re: Rz rear shock upgrade.

Didn't even think about the later model shocker option...didn't think they would be still available.

Thanks again Jon for good advise.

Rz rear shock upgrade.

Hi Guys, I've read so many different opinions on the rear shock upgrade, that I really don't know what to believe, so.... I really don't want to spend $1000 bucks on a shock. Have to buy 2, so ouch!!! My bikes are not going to see the track. Anyone purchased the cheaper shocks such as the YSS items ...
