Re: KTMito 380
not dust seals, I popped them out and tested.
The fork only seizes when fork bottoms are turned in one particular direction, which to mean is a standout symptom of bent forks

Re: KTMito 380
interesting.
I havent used these forks on the bike yet.
But when I pump them up and down when off the bike, they make a rubbing, squeaking noise
Ill be very happy if this is all it turns out to be... full rebuild/service, get the fork set up perfectly and then Ill be happy as a pig in shit

Re: KTMito 380
My suspicions were unfortunately confirmed this morning. Took both fork legs off the bike. Left leg felt OK. right let felt horrible. It would squeak when compressed and would actually get stuck towards the bottom of the stroke and would require a tap with a mallet to free it up. Soooo long story sh...

Re: KTMito 380
I'd rather get the forks sorted before any fanging takes place. Ive never seen a fork do this before
Ill pop some new fluid in them and if they still play up I might have to get my mate dave to look at them.

Re: KTMito 380
I think you are right. This is why I think ceramic wheel bearings are a waste, because bearing losses are nothing compared to dragging brake pads! My main obsession with this dragging issue was because everything is a miss match of parts from different bikes and custom bushes/adapter plates... all i...

Re: KTMito 380
This week I've rebuilt the bikes front brake calipers while I wait to be able to apply the final coat of paint. I had an issue of sticky brakes, If I spin the wheel I'd only get 1 full turn from the wheel before it stopped. So I pumped the pistons out one by one almost to the point where the fell ou...

Re: freight melbourne to sydney or perth
If your not in a Hurry my old man travels up the east cost melb/syd/bris a few times a year with a race hauler full of dragbikes. He usually does affordable bike freight (approx 200-250bucks)

you can get second hand Keihin PWK carbs second hand on ebay for 60-80 bucks each, and you can get new PWK replicas (KOSO brand name) for $50 each in any size.
Id imagine you'd want 32,34 or 35mm?

Re: Excited about my RS250 and a question on tyres
depends how fast you are and how far you will be leaning the bike over. If your not going to be pushing the bike very hard, dont waste your money on expensive tires, you will only end up with a prematurely squared off tire and have less grip in the wet. If your not going to be pushing hard, get a de...

Yeah I was trying to say one quarter of one thousandth of an inch. Aka .00025 inch, aka a bees dick
Your the one who got it honed for me tho, you'd know best what it was
Re: RD250LC
Definitely contact link on this forum. BTW, going +4mm is not just a matter of throwing in a new crank (even after machining the cases). Your piston will travel higher, so you would need to space the barrels up (or change piston pin location in pistons), then your port heights change and all sorts ...

Jeram, Silly thought... to measure the capacity I just fill one of them with water? And of course the the capacity of the engine is already known.
Can find a pic, or take more, they are just hanging in my garage...
