Re: Barry Sheene @ Eastern Creek

Thanks. It was good to be back at eastern Creek after a couple of years away.
I won my class on the TZR250 and had some fun on the TZ350F.
Next couple of months is all dirt bikes now though.

Re: WTB 1985 RZ250R RZ350R YPVS controller

What connectors Jon? Unit from another bike would confirm it is the unit in error.
Just need connectors the same. I can bring one with me if I know connectors.

Re: Boost Bottles

Likewise for reed intakes there was a time we used equations to calulate reed dimensions but by the late 80s it was discovered fitting the largerst reed with the most petals you can physically stuff in there provides greater gains Do you have anything to support this claim? I can see big reed block...

Re: RZ250 main jet size

I have the parts list for the Australian 1985 RZ250RN.
It has a powerjet and the main is 155.
So don't try 155 in a pre-powerjet carby.

Re: Lectron metering rods

I have done a lot with Lectrons. I have lots of rods. What rod are you using?
Is the rod retained via a grubscrew?

RZ500 engine removal

We are about to remove the engine in my brother's RZ500 so we can replace the main bearings, etc.

Any tips to help remove the engine will be greatly appreciated.

Reed block sizes

Yamaha TZR250 2XT and 3MA-1 had large 8 petal reed blocks. Then 3MA had same size reed blocks with 6 petal reeds. Am I correct that TZR250 3XV and TZ 4DP and on all used smaller 6 petal reeds and blocks the same size as each other? Am I correct that these were the same size as the Honda NSR250, RS12...

Re: Tz owner from brisbane

Welcome to the forum. I see you have Greg's old TZ350 there two. Good bike. I have the clutch bearing mod and a couple of Rave Motosport solid Kevlar friction plates to help with the exploding plate issue. But before the Barry Sheene next year I will be fitting a cush drive to my rear Astrolite wheel.
