Re: RD400E Yellow Paint Code
Just letting peeps know that SAPE in West Gosford had the code for Competition Yellow and have mixed some up for me, so now sorted. As I suspected, the paint did have an orange component to it, so hopefully it will turn out as I picture in my mind.

Re: RD400E Yellow Paint Code
His work looks top class Jon and I was already aware of Collide a Scope but have yet to try them out. My painter works for an industry customer of mine, thus I get stuff done for mates rates so don’t really want to go elsewhere. He uses the Cromax paint system and when we went through his swatches, ...

Re: RD400E Yellow Paint Code
Thanks CNKXU1 I had already found that reference and also the one about Yamaha Giallo Yellow but my painter doesn’t recognise either, so still digging.

Re: RD400E Yellow Paint Code
Hi Jon, I don’t have anything for the painter to scan unfortunately. I’m not even sure that Competition Yellow was offered as a colour option here in Oz tbh, which might explain the apparent lack of local paint data.

RD400E Yellow Paint Code
Hi folks, I am looking to get the paint set for my second 400E project put in to my painter and wondered if anyone has details of a modern paint match for Competition Yellow (OEM code CPY 0026). I guess someone may have found a car or other automotive paint that is a good match colour-wise, so any i...

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!
Looking good there mate, that’s gonna be a nice bike when it’s finished. There’s always something satisfying about getting the rolling chassis back together

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!
That is starting to come together nicely. I didn’t have room to take my tank back to the UK this time around and then another one came up on flea bay, so that was snapped up, just to make sure the resto is viable.

Re: Salt Two Stroke
It’s great that we can buy a new two stroke bike in this sanitised age and looking forward to hearing more about it as you get through the running in phase.

Re: RE-introduction
Thanks for sharing your story, it’s bloody brilliant that strokers are making something of a comeback in these increasingly sanitised times.

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!
This thread has spurred me on to contacting a crowd in the UK (Metal Magic at Heritage Motor Works) that do this sort of work and I am now contemplating taking my F2 tank over to them when I go over next month. I will post my experience on here if I go down that path. Not sure if costs yet but will ...

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!
No sadly not, the tanks are specific to each model (with the exception of the LC2 and F1 models I believe), which makes it something of a nightmare sourcing a replacement. Repro LC ones can be purchased out of the UK but I don’t believe anyone has started reproducing a correct copy of the power valv...

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!
Welcome casabonka (great forum name btw) and it is great to see another RZ being returned to use. It’s worth keeping an eye out on Gumtree and EBay, as tanks do come up occasionally, however, folks are these days all to aware of their rarity and value, so don’t expect a bargain sadly. As has already...
