Re: Rg250 Chambers on Rz250

Heard they work pretty good too, hence the stupid amount of hours to make em fit. Is there anyone out there who has done the same. Retaining std air box. Any special jetting tricks to get the most out of these pipes. Don't want to go down the path of modern engine mods, rather try and keep the runni...

Rg250 Chambers on Rz250

Bought my 83 RZ late last year, with original cigar pipes and they were pretty banged up.... So purchase early RG250 chambers and have 'made them fit'. It has taken me a more hours than I care to think about to make them fit... Cut headers of cigar pipes and welded to Rg down pipes. Fabricated mount...

Re: Pregnant fuel tank

Shouldn't be much if an issue. Have a few toys to play with. Haven't got the CNC miller yet though. There's not a lot I can't do myself or go to mates house, drink piss while playing in the workshop. Appreciate Do's and Dont's comments. I want to set the suspension up nicely without going stupid on ...

Re: Pregnant fuel tank

Thanks for the compliment JonW. Visited your 2smoked site many times prior to buying my 83 and gave me the inspiration to buy a RZ and relive my youth. I had an 83 RZ with a John Gourlay built race motor when I was young bloke living in Tassie. Was one fast bike. The 83 I own is close to seeing the ...

Re: Pregnant fuel tank

:P :P :P Bottom had bulged, thus pushing the bottom of the tank out by 50mm plus. Actually it was over 100mm at the centre. Could not believe how easy it was to fix. Connected vac pump to petrol cock and let it rip. Within seconds the sides started to return to where they should be. Repeated 4 or 5t...

Pregnant fuel tank

:( :( :( Refer to "Newly Acquired RZ350"... Picked up the bike today, and Fark..... It seems that many moons ago, somebody has tried to repair the dents in the tank with compressed air... The underside of the tank has tried to pop out and bulged, causing whole tank to expand.... I have acc...

Re: Newly Acquired RZ 350

Mmmmm, could be onto something there.
Would have to do the wheels in some fluoro shade of orange and fit pink braided lines.
Where do you think I should put the rainbow stickers?

Rz Ductail Mount Lugs

Just getting started on my rebuild, and the Ductail has the usual broken/missing lugs. I have a perfect one to make some impressions from and make replacement lug sections. With slight mods, I should be able to make a replacement piece that can be securely attached to a damaged ductail. I have acces...

Re: My Intro

No arguments here about the seals. Only have to look at the tyres fitted to the bike. Got cracks wider than the Grand Canyon.
Dare say there won't be much original rubber by the time I'm finished

Re: My Intro

Werribee Melbourne . Thanks for your advice. I have a very good engineering/technical background. Motor(s) will be stripped and made like new within reason. May need help with drawings/photos of missing parts that are hard to come by. If I can't make it, I can get it made. Looking forward to help fr...

Re: Newly Acquired RZ 350

Spot on L.B... Sent a message saying I didn't want to upset seller with an insulting offer, and ask for Buy It Now price...No reply ... International freight is crazy these days. Might have to book a cheap holiday to Canada, or just suck it up a pay stupid price for something that will take a week o...

Newly Acquired RZ 350

Just purchased this old girl. It's a matching no 350 1AH. Was going to use it as a donor bike for my 83, but can't bear it to not see the road again. If anyone can help me out with a front guard and fairing brackets, let me know. Seen a fairing for sale on E-bay at the moment but still trying to get...
