Also, factor in the inherent 2T power-pulse - on every downstroke..
It allows both more positive power feed/less inertia, for throttle-control/traction..
& yet it still gives - greater resistance to stalling..

Yeah, always variables.. esp' with reeds flappin' away..
I agree that discrete cylinder tuning makes most top-end power,
- though cross-over pipes on multis - do work, down low..

Re: RZ250R clip on style bars
Yeah. I'd suggest that if you really want to retain the stock clip on mounts.. ..then cutting off/boring out the old bars, & fitting a weld on/in replacement bars.. is the go.. ..esp' since they are located/bolted in a fixed position - to the top triple clamp.. & 2 points.. 1, The stock `85 ...

Kindly get back to us - with a ride report, wont you..
(& is it a camera lens distortion.. or are you going to need to tuck in those exhaust cans - a bit closer?)

Re: Boost Bottles
www.totallyamaha.com/snowmobiles/aaTECH/BoostBottle/Boost_install.htm RZ balance pipe increased in diameter/volume over original RDLC. With a multi-cylinder engine, the idea of running a linked 'plenum' set-up VS an individual B-B per cyl, may be about utilizing the timed pressure pulse phases in sy...

Re: Boost Bottles
It has to be taken into account whether it is a single cylinder engine or a multi. & with the multi, is each cylinder kept functionally independent/discrete.. or are certain functions 'ganged' like inlet/exhaust manifolds, with possible pulse overlap synergy? Even the RD/RZ using an inlet balanc...

Re: Flow management through reeds
Funnily enough, I was mowing the lawn with the good ol' Victa 2T a couple of days ago, & the electronic ignition cut postion - on the throttle control lever - decided not to cut, so I turned the fuel tap off.. When the carb ran out of juice, it momentarily gained revs, then cut out, but caught a...

Update: Ride review..

An extra $1000- over the carb job..
..seems a bit pricey, esp' since AFAIR..
..their 4T's didn't leap that much -when they got a new FI set-up..

Re: RD350 Exhaust/Expansion Chambers
Devon, if you do get a set of performance pipes,
you might just want to ditch the stock foot-peg unit,
as it runs under & around the stock pipes..
..& scrapes on the ground, limiting cornering clearance..

Don't chuck 'em out O-E.. spray 'em with some rust converter & then pack 'em away..
.. plastic wrapped.. all greasy..
If you imagine you'll never need another crank rebuild.. you'd best think again..
That is, if you intend to both ride.. & hang on to an RDLC, as a keeper..
