Re: RD250LC or 350 frame? LC engine? unfinished project? WHY?!

We’ve probably all reached that “Gollum” state of mind. I have s mate, same (50ish) age as me who just hoovers up all kinds of shit, it never sees the light of day again. I am semi guilty, but finally got one proj (LC) back as a daily rider and when a few hundred bucks come free the next one (DT175)...

Couple of youtube channels

I’ve started watching these two this week: Powervalve Pete’s Garage And S Garage Pete has introduced himself on here and joined our community, and the collection of barnfind bikes that he’s fixing up and learning as he goes probably mirrors many of our experiences! S Garage is a super-tidy one man t...

Re: RD/RZ Frame and Engine number questions

RZ250 wasn’t limited release to Australia, different markets got essentially the same bikes, with slightly different model names/codes. E.g. the RZ350 (35G) would be called an RD350 “LC2” (31K) in the UK with a different paint scheme but 99% the same bike. The RZ250 (34J) in UK would be an RD250 “LC...

Re: RD/RZ Frame and Engine number questions

The PPSR site will show you if there’s a financial interest etc on the “bike”, always go via the govt sites (a mere $2 in South Australia!) not via some $25 or $30 equifax type site as its a waste of $23. You’re right, a lot of the very old rego records are just lost, if a bike hasn’t been registere...

Re: RD/RZ Frame and Engine number questions

Pretty sure the frames and engine numbers would always match out of the factory way past 1988, would not be surprised if they still match on new Yamahas now. Match the frames up with the engines if you can. For model designations go on RD350LC.net This is an excellent resource. If you’re selling par...

Re: Prising LC clock rims off

Put some other clocks on which don't have the orrible droning noise, dropped a drop or two of chain lube into the boss on the back of the clocks in both the "new" clocks and the existing clocks. Will put the original clocks back on at some point to see if the lubrication sorted the noise. ...

DT175 1985-2006 clutch basket

Mine is FUBAR.
Anyone got a good clutch basket for a DT175 they’d be happy to sell?
1987 bike, so its the weird 1980’s “tick” shaped bike, not the earlier versions

RD250/350LC bits wanted

Left hand engine cover / generator cover / stator cover
Don’t care about paint so long as the cover is in good condition.
