Re: Removing oil Injection. Ds7 r5 etc

I'm sure it's been done before.

What's the issue with the oil injection?

Re: Interesting ebay sale

Give it another 12 months and it will probably look cheap... I doubt that RZ prices are likely to be affected by our current economic ''deflation".

Re: rd 350 rear engine mount

Bloke on eBay is wrecking a couple of early RD's.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121905952763 ... 370bb&cp=1

He's wrecking a couple of them, so he might have a second set. He's moving house or something and he's a bit slow on emails, but he seems alright.

It's a pretty expansive tool kit! Throw in a rotor puller and you could almost attempt a bottom end rebuild by the side of the road on the Nullabour....

Re: Myths, old wives tales and bullshit that just won't die

It's almost counterintuitive isn't it, that resonances created between the exhaust and inlet tracts, can pump more air than an increase in Primary CR. Good old 4 stroke theory just doesn't translate. I'm still a bit of a 2T theory noob, so I've been reading my way through Jennings over the past few ...

Re: RD350 selector forks

I remember reading somewhere recently that the earlier 5 speeds had 3 selector forks and the later 6 speeds have 4. Perhaps that ?Haynes manual was written for the R5 and Ds7 series bikes and then updated (mostly) for the RD. There are a few manuals available on line and plenty of parts schematics t...

Re: RD350 TR3 Replica

Yes, it's been awhile and you could be excused for thinking I've given up, but things have been progressing slowly but surely and I've had some time to throw at it over the last few weeks to push it on a bit. Building a motorcycle from scratch over the Internet would once upon a time, seemed a ridic...

Re: Did yYou Make the list?

Meh...."cafe racer" is just a couple of words when you look at the technical side of how some of those bikes have been built. Some really nice engineering & "hard yards" have gone into these builds, which I can appreciate. Honestly Id own quiet a few of those bikes cause they...

Re: Making cafe racery bits

Your onto it BRG. Florists foam is very workable and safe and easy to use. The old timers used to use styro cut with a hot wire, until people started dying of cancer from the fumes..... http://youtu.be/XeeSsmsm9h0 This guy is working in carbon, but the modelling and moulding process is basically the...

Re: Hello from Central West NSW

The decompression valve looks like a winner. Husky you say? I've got a bigassed Husky chainsaw that I rarely use because it has so much compression that it's a complete bitch to start. If it doesn't start by the third pull, you're stuffed. Your hand is too sore for 4! It needs a decomp valve.... I l...

Re: Hello from Central West NSW

Welcome aboard Johnno. Excellent blog article there! What a journey. Your a man after Jennings' own heart. I guess that a stretch of good old country road will tell you everything that a dyno would, without the numbers! You obviously have finely calibrated 'pants seat'. Interesting that those Chines...
