Re: RD350 TR3 Replica
Spot on JonW. My compressor has got to be getting close to 20 years old now, and as expensive as it was, has been a great investment that's paid for itself many times over. It's a 3HP, 12 cfm unit that is as big as you can go on a 10amp outlet. I've started building an outside enclosed area for it a...

Re: RD350 TR3 Replica
Thanks fellas. Yeah, that's pretty much where my thinking had taken me. I'm inclined to think that as long as the area is cleaned up sufficiently, it shouldn't have too much an effect on performance or longevity. Ah, glass bead blasting! Glad you mentioned it..... That case has been blasted already ...

Re: RD350 TR3 Replica
Hey Ozzy. Yeah, I did see that. And had a little cry. It's actually a really good price for what it is, but I don't really have the 3 grand hanging out of my wallet at the moment. Sniff...... Your post in Wizz's thread on my rims question was really helpful. I'm making progress but slowly, so when I...

Re: RD350 TR3 Replica
The frame and front end have turned up now and look pretty promising. Nice and straight and well useable. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x384/gedification/RD/96A02C80-4C3B-44C9-9E17-73D9508D577D.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x384/gedification/RD/CDC3B9ED-6994-4394-A5ED-F64A5E8D2B7A.jp...

RD350 TR3 Replica
Okay, okay..... I've been hijacking Wizz' and Waggys RD/TR replica threads with my questions on a very similar project, so I figure I had better start my own thread and stop cluttering up other people's projects with my endless bollocks. Alright, the story so far. I've been helping a mate out with a...

Re: RD350 Project
Yep, I imagine they will sound and probably go as good they look. They're very nice.
Are you building this for road or track? and are you thinking of putting a fairing on it or keeping it naked?

Re: RD350 Project
Lookin good Waggy. Those pipes look fat! What are they again? I like the look of the header pipe section as well.. They're well tucked in, as opposed to the standard headers that poke out into the wind. I like your stands too. I might borrow your design when I get that far. Hey Wizz. Is that one of ...

TR3 Inspired RD400 project
Cheers Ozzy. Some good stuff in there. Yeah, those are the rims I'm looking at. I might buy one for the front of the SR250 thing I'm doing and have a look at em. It's performance potential is pretty limited and really, it's a posers bike rather than a fair dinkum scratcher, so that spec rim will pro...

Re: TR3 Inspired RD400 project
Cheers Wizz. Nice work Ozzy! It doesn't look dissimilar to the factory rear brake at a quick glance. I can see my rear brake coming out very similar! It looks great. I believe holy hubs have a dual purpose of firstly, ventilation but also (probably) more importantly weight reduction and more particu...

Re: TR3 Inspired RD400 project
Ohhhhh, you guys are so cynical! But, I sure know where your coming from. There are so many competing priorities at that stage of life and looking back, there's a lot of stuff I'd do differently, but old motorcycles have been a constant theme through all of it for me and I reckon it's what kept me (...

Re: TR3 Inspired RD400 project
Hiya Wizz. Congratulations on your nuptuals. I hope it all goes/went well and by now your swanning around in some, sun drenched tropical paradise honeymoon heaven. Good onya mate. Loving your build here, it looks fantastic. I ran across your thread because I've recently embarked on a similar project...
