Re: 1986 RZ 250 workshop manual
Haynes are good, I would say it's very likely the 250 set up will be in there too, and Haynes manuals are pretty cheap second hand. In the UK hardly anyone would have bought a 250 stroker after about 1980, the learner laws were knocked over by the speed of the X7, RD250DX then the 250 LC appeared an...

What a result if it was the result of a typo! Good luck to you for taking on a more unusual resto.

Re: Another eBay 350LC, poor condition tho
Reckon you're right JonW, lot of shed clearing going on. Still, cautiously I'm a little bit encouraged, if RD's can still be had for sensible money and not the insane bidding frenzy that the UK had a few years ago and which made them a real luxury item.

Re: Another eBay 350LC, poor condition tho
Well Ritza, did ya get it??
$1350ish for the pair in the end I think?
Not too bad for two bikes I guess.

engine work in or near Adelaide?
Who would you trust with rebores, cranks, rebuilds etc in or near Adelaide?
This is for future reference, no urgency.
I've heard of Neville Lush, though I think mostly specialises in triples perhaps.

Re: RD400 Daytona
Very nice looking bike, and a very nice example.
Never got these in the UK, went straight from coffin tanks to LC's over there, shame really.
Nice "not so missing link" from where Yam were to where they were going with the LC.

Boys, I'm kidding as well, though I seem to have found a League Of Gentlemen here! How considerate of you all
Not in a position to put a serious bid on right now (not the level it will probably get to) so if you guys are, then please don't forgoe anything on my account

Re: The start of something beautiful ?
Talking of 250 versus 350 parts, the barrels, carbs, heads and oil pumps are the main thing, as everyone says, a second disc, alternative calipers and various other things are possible. New Carb options are available now, brand new PWK's and so on if I interpret correctly. I just read a bit of UK ma...

Re: The start of something beautiful ?
Doc, easiest way to spot a 250 hub is that the polished bits on the spokes continue down over the body of the hub section, and it's much narrower, tapering down. 350 hub is the kind of cylindrical drum shape you'd have if it contained a drum brake on the chain side. Hmm, that's not very well describ...

Re: Another eBay 350LC, poor condition tho
Guys, you have a very good point about sellers chancing their arm, I've been haunting ebay and other places for a while, and I'm surprised how many bikes get offered again and again, with a slowly dropping price or stories of buyers not going through with the deal. I think the moral is keep your ner...

Thanks for the welcome fellas, I look forward to talking to you regularly as I can :-) Good to see a bit of a community into what I'm into. DOC03, well, if you see something on Ebay or Gumtree down here I'm happy to try and help you out. Have spare garage space if you wanted a temporary store locati...

Introducing, well, me as it goes.
Hi all on this forum, just joined, into LC's and powervalves. I'm a Pom, been in South Australia (Adelaide) nearly three years now, like the country very much but had to offload my bikes before I came here and missing motorcycling terribly. Have owned (in the past :( ) a few 'valves and one very ear...

Re: The start of something beautiful ?
I was watching that lot with interest, looked like a good starting point if time and facilities were available. I'm a Pom, so the sheer size of Australia constantly astounds me, like another poster - it was just so far away for my mindset! $600 bucks if it proves to be almost there does sound like a...
