Dave.T wrote:Hi All....

New to the site and thought I'd say G'day.

Old school stroker from years ago, and now the bug has well and truly sunk it's fangs into me.

Used to ride a slightly crazy RZ350 when I was A young fella. Now years later, having the mid life thing all of us old school strokers seem to catch, I haven't been able to help myself.

Garage (sunroom) houses a tidy 95 Rgv, nearly finished 83 RZ250/350, and now my newly acquired matching nos 85 RZ350 :P

The old girl requires a fair bit of TLC (and parts) to return it to what it should be. Tank is virtually rust free!!!! Motor is fresh (rebuilt 20 years ago and only saw a couple of months before being crashed and been in the shed ever since). Apparently.

Hope you blokes might be willing to help out when I get stuck on a few finicky details (and parts hopefully).

Over the next months (years), I'll be buying up bits and pieces as I find them for the right prices and be happy offer surplus parts to other members.

Be posting a few pics over the next couple of weeks.

Welcome Dave, nice collection youve got there already.
350 sounds & looks good, with that motor tho,id have to say change the seals esp crank for oem ones. They'd be toast after 20years.
Plenty of good advice & help here,JonW has a very nice rz primer page up with heaps of great info.....im sorry for the life of me i cant find link but im sure Jon will be along soon enough.
Whats your local?

Werribee Melbourne .
Thanks for your advice. I have a very good engineering/technical background.

Motor(s) will be stripped and made like new within reason. May need help with drawings/photos of missing parts that are hard to come by.

If I can't make it, I can get it made.
Looking forward to help from all the guys on the site.

I travel the length and width of Melbourne every week as part of my job. Happy to help out if members need something checked out/picked up.

Thanks again for your warm welcome

Welcome Dave. Agree with LB - crank seals should be changed even on that rebuilt motor.
20 years is a long time for rubber to sit doing nothing.

No arguments here about the seals. Only have to look at the tyres fitted to the bike. Got cracks wider than the Grand Canyon.
Dare say there won't be much original rubber by the time I'm finished

Dave, if you're able to get things made, or contribute to the community by occasionally casting an eye over a bike for someone interstate, I'm sure you'll be real popular real fast :-)
Welcome.
