Thanks BRG,

Here's some pics of the bike finally finished (with lights and mirrors etc) and on display at a local bike show.
I plan to get it registered in the next week or so and then having fun!

Very nice buddy.

I feel like it needs some stickers or something.

Its stunning!

I see what youre saying Jeff, maybe a ypvs decal on the tail and somewhere else. no need for engine size, it keeps em guessing lol

Hi Hybrid, Jon,

I agree. I was intending to have a white Yamaha sticker on the black part of the lower fairing but it didn't arrive while I was painting. I'll have to put it over the clear. A ypvs or RZ sticker on the tail or upper fairing might look good too.

Definitely won't have the engine size :)

sounds good Phil, I like the idea that this bike will have most of the younger lands scratching their heads.

Im wondering if it would have perhaps been better to have Yamaha on the fairing and RZ on the tank... sort of like the XT500s were. Ok, its a moot point now that its painted of course and it looks great like it is, but we always want 'a bit more' dont we lol

Top job Phil, hope it rides as beautifully as it looks. It could almost be something that Yamaha themselves mght have developed these bikes into, so hats off to ya fella.

It's taken me a while to sort out the carb jetting and re-learning a lot in the process.
I'm pretty happy with it now although still running the bike in. Done 400kms and nothing fallen off so far.
Here's a YouTube of it running.

Out for a test run

When a bike looks THIS good, it doesn't need stickers to distract the eye from it's excellent lines.

Best thing I have watched on YouTube for an absolute age Phil!

Kudos to ya for executing your vision so beautifully, it is one of the best looking bikes I have ever seen and the fact that it could almost pass as factory, shows what a terrific job you did.

Enjoy riding it and don’t forget I have first dibs if you ever wish to move it on!
