Where to get perforated tube...?

Post by James P »

Anyone got any suggestions for places in Australia to get perforated tube for making/repairing silencers?

There are a few advertisers on Ebay, but their products are a bit pricey and it all seems to be stainless steel (mild steel will be fine for me). There are many sellers overseas (particularly UK) selling the same products much cheaper, but postage costs mean that I wouldn't save much (if anything) by importing it myself.

The size I need at the moment is 41mm ID (1 5/8"), 1mm thick. I am repairing a set of SP Tadao silencers and found the internals are a bit too far gone. Something of similar size (diameter within a millimetre or two) should be OK, as it looks like I will have to make new flanges as well!

Thanks & regards,
James

You might be able to call them up to see if they can source smaller diameter.

Thanks for that. The 44mm OD mild steel perforated tube looks to be just what I'm after. I only need half a metre (price is OK if I can buy a half-length!), so it may be best to pay them a visit - luckily they are just down the road!

Thanks again & regards,
James
