Hello everyone, I am new here and this is my very first post.
I am currently restoring my late father's old Yamaha RX125 2 stroke this bike has low k's and has been in the family since new in 1980, it has however sat in a shed for the last 12 years, my problem is that I have replaced various rubbers, new fuel tap and put a kit through the carby, now when it's running it is extremely doey like the choke is on and smokes heaps what could be wrong

Re: Rx125 tune
Given the symptoms you describe and the fact that the bike has advisedly been stood for a long time, I would suspect the crank seals have gone hard.
Are you able to perform a leak down test, as that should confirm if they are the issue.

Re: Rx125 tune
Thanks ozhammer, I pulled the carby out and found the 'e' clip on the throttle needle had come of I assume this was the culprit.

Good find, let us know if that sorts your issue.
