RZ250/350 YPVS Tyre choices

Post by exup »

Hi,
well its been about 30 years since I needed to get tyres for the 250/350 and looking at the manual the 250 is showing 90/90-18 and rear 110/80-18. Not much of a selection there when I check online.
I am used to pilot sports but all I see in Michelin is the Michelin Road Classic.

what are you guys running, did you play around with profiles to get a selection of tyre options.

cheers.

BT45 is always a solid choice. But Dunlop, Avon and others work as well.

Depends where you live, I did a deal locally with a tyre place, but it wasnt easy and he was a total nutter and changed the prices on me and didnt order the 2 sets i wanted, he also didnt have valves.

Another place I used were great on price and fitting but were in an inconvenient location and ignored emails the 3rd time i was pricing. their loss I guess, but annoying as theyd done good work on LC tyres for me for previous builds.

Defo shop around.

BT46 is the new replacement for BT45.
Go with the tyre size that is ideal for the rim size. ie. 2.15" and 2.50".
90/90-18 51H and 110/80-18 58H

Awesome thanks guys. I took a look at the tyres I have on my RD350 F1 I bought for the bike back in 1991. Which were stock sizes at the time. (The engine seized and its been parked up ever since)
So will look at the BT46.
