RS125 cdi

Post by AlanE2 »

I have euro 2 spec cdi/rave controller, does anyone know if the annoying dip in power at around 5-6k rpm can be eliminated?
It has the bridge broken in the cdi so it revs past 8k but other than that stock.
I'll be putting Gianelli pipe and rejetting soon but that dip at 5k would still bug me.
Will a Zeeltronic or similar be the only way past this?

cheers

for the money you could get for your stock CDI, you could buy a zeel/ignitech and have change left over.

wont just eliminate the flat spot it will also be the single best modification on your bike.

Can you program the zeel to open the power valve at 2 different rpms?
not sure how important it is as the std cdi opens it at 2500 and 8000.
i think the 2500 open is to self clean?
2TInstitute: when you removed the restrictive snorkel and saw a drop in hp, did you remove it entirely of replace with a less restrictive one?

Removed to snorkel entirely, the snorkel is NOT 'restrictive' at all. The dyno does not lie.
The early version of the Zeeltronic software could not do that but Crash Dummy(Gary) has been in constant contact with Borut and he has updated the software /wiring diagram to do this and to relieve the tension on the cable once opened fully.

Iv had one of them for 12 months without any dramas.

ok, 57 is cheaper than I thought... the netbooks are about $230

but for 230 you also get a computer that does almost everything a normal laptop can.

up to you ;)

Im igntech... soon to try a zeel on another project soon though.

2Ti's the best one to ask about that.

Iv heard about guys using zeels and ignitechs on triumph twins having reliability issues (bout 500hr life) but I suspect that is to do either
-vibration damaging ignition OR
-wired up wrong

still 500hrs work of increased performance for only a couple hundred bucks... cant complain.
