The KR-1R never had a programmable ignition. I asked Kork Ballington about that bike he just said 'If only.........."
Pat you can easy put 35mm carbs a closer top gear , an igition and some pipes and you would have as good if not better bike than the R.

Yea I know but its stil not going to be an R. The next day out the bike will have the fresh motor fitted and then I will start to fit some goodies. Just dont have any time due to work these days to get out on track

If you had a genuine R you will hit the 'Manx' ceiling/phenomenon/syndrome. That is , a Manx is the best bike for it's class, but not the fastest. The fastest are the copies, about twice as fast, not just because of today's technology packed into it, but more if you crash a real Manx your crying for days, crash a copy and you just buy replacement bits.

Trumped ! I'd say blown away . Looks like a factory race bike , supplied to the lucky few . Pipes are interesting shape , looks like they were trying to preserve some mid range with the fat section.

Hi guys I read someone here say the 84 kr250 had a weak bottom end I just got a kr motor for a build I am doing and would like to know more like can I take off the oil pump and run premix if so what oil and fuel mix is 30:1 ok also I have heard that kx125 carbs are a good upgrade from the stock 28s have any of you done this .
