RG500 Engines Options

Post by cris_adder »

Not sure how I will go with this question ... but will ask anyway... wanted to ask what engine options there were for an RG500..?

I have two RG500 rollers (no engines) and given how scarce (and pricey) RG500/400 engines are, wanted to ask what else may be an relatively straightforward option to drop in...?

Cheers

Sell them and get a proper chassis to start with.

How complete are they? Condition?

Only useful for completion with original engine.

RG400 engines shouldn't be that expensive, are they?

The chassis are pretty good and they are pretty much complete with most (if not all) fairings and other parts (electrics, brakes, etc). The only part that is missing are the engines...

I was thinking of just dropping in RG400 engines, but I think they are getting harder to source also...

My other option was to buy a couple of engines from Japan (I have been watching Yahoo auctions), as they seem to much more reasonable in price ...

Thanks

Suzuki still has the 500 cylinders so the 400 is a good option. Is it a road or a track bike?
