Just received in the post: RG250 1984

Post by BRG1200 »

Bike arrived this morning.
I had to ask if it was the only size they had.
Looked about the right size for my 8 year old, I shall have to join WeightWatchers :-)

I think the RZ might bully it (or try to hump it) in the shed.

Damn, it's a neat little job.

Missing so far:
Ignition and keys
Speedo drive
Chain guard
Little squarish cover on left side of motor
Mirrors
Screen
Headlight broken, needs a new one.
Rear seat section

All panels need minor to medium repairs, and it came with a remarkably floppy belly pan that looks original.
I think it used to be yellow under the white overpaint.
All looks eminently repairable - but it all needs doing!

Came with a solo seat cover instead of the rear seat.
Came with a scruffy spare top fairing from a 1983 Mk1 and a couple of side panels.

I'll get a Photobucket account and put some pics up.

I'll be hoping to trade for a few repair spares on here!
Ex UK, now in Adelaide. LC250/350. DT175. Shed full of sh1t in the vague form of dismantled rusty RD’s and RZ’s.

The solo seat cover is hard to find so that is a bonus, I will have a look and see what I have on your list.

I found a chain guard, speedo drive and the square cover. PM me if you want them, I don't know what the difference is between the models for the speedo drive and chain guard or if there is even a difference.

Mr Police, pm me about those bits, feck knows if I'd ever find them elsewhere.
If it can be got roadworthy I think I'm going to really like this little bike. I weigh 100kg if my wife's scales are to be believed (surely not) so I reckon calorie control s in my future or it's going to struggle.

My kids have "got" the idea of how into bikes I really am, and for some reason this little bike seems to have got their interest, they want a ride on it. They were on the pillion "seat" within a minute.

Someone mentioned in another thread about the pared down racy view from the riders position - yeah - it's really purposeful looking in the cockpit.

Gazzah, be enthused, be very enthused.
Dunno what else you've got going on but these RG's are worth a bit of span nearing. God I hate bloody spell checker "autocorrect", how do you turn the fecking thing off? SPANNERING you stupid bloody iPad. GRRRRR
