KR1 v KR1S engine differences

ok if you can read the title would like to know any physical differences from the outside and inside to help identify between the the engines please

so for those who like to share there knowledge please take a step forward

also where is the engine number located

The number is behind the right hand carb next to the clutch actuator arm. I have never seen an S motor so cant say how to tell them apart from the outside.

ive told the oil filler on the clutch housings are different but yet to confirm

I think your right but I also think the covers are interchangeable so that may not prove conclusive. I think you can only go off the numbers and hope the top end is the correct one because they are also interchangeable.
If it matters the KR1 is lighter but the KR1S has a few more HP. The KR1 with the S pipes is the best combination, that's what I have for the track .

You can check the powervalves by removing the resonator cover from the barrel and having a look. The old short PV is a KR1 item and the new one is a KR1S item. The KR1 PV is short because its broken, a common problem. These PVs are not interchangeable.
