[SOLD] big-bore stroker RZ engine - 421cc

Post by Jeram »

Hi everyone,

As I am saving up for a home deposit it is time to unfortunately sell of a few of my toys.

I have for sale my precious 421cc RZ250 motor with the following features

-based on an RZ 250 bottom end
-very low hours (barely broken in, rings only just bedded in)

Bottom end
-4mm stroker crank (brand new, less than an hours use), 115mm rods
-billet barnet clutch with stainless inserts heavy duty springs, new barnet clutch plates and aftermarket pancake bearing kit to stop clutch rod seizures.
-bottom end has all new bearings
-inspected gearbox and only gears in perfect condition were used
-crank cases are industrial teflon coated so its very easy to keep clean
-light weight flywheel
-CNC twin pickup rotor and stator (two stroke shop)
-billet engine side covers

Top end
-CPI cub 421cc cylinder, 7 transfer port, triple exhaust port cylinder
-cylinder has a ceramic/teflon coating on the outside which is claimed to improve head disipation vs. oxidised aluminium
-Great cooling efficiency
-Billet head with interchangeable inserts
-Pistons are forged, with cermaic coated domes and dry film (lube) coated skirts
-Top end is in as new condition (rings only just bedded in)

Carbs
-2x Brand new Keihin PWK 35 (airstrikers?)
-vforce 3 reed cages
-aftermarket carb manifolds (to fit 35mm carbs)
-quick action throttle
-boost bottle (you can leave it on or take it off, makes no difference)

Exhaust
-The bike does come with a set of pipes, however they will need modifying to fit an RZ (they were designed for a TZR chassis).
Or you can just get a set of decent RZ pipes which will work fine with this cylinder

Ignition
Ignitech fully programmable Dual channel ignition is included in the sale if the asking price is met,

performance: somewhere in the area of 80-90hp at 10,500rpm

I am asking $4000 for the lot

I may consider separating items if I get a tempting offer(s)
for the right price I'd certainly consider selling just the top end.

In addition, I also have a professionally fabricated mounting kit to allow for this motor to be mounted into a TZR (2MA/1kt) chassis. and a high flow dual pass radiator which suits this set up also.

Ha,
I know the feeling Jeram, I just signed a contract last week. The outgoings are huge! Takes you from having bulk cash to spare, to poor again in the flick of a pen.

Good lunch with the sales!

it was built to bolt onto the bikes custom engine mounts, no reason why it wouldnt fit the rz. but I wouldnt sell just the rad by itself ;)

Well done, wish I could get my hands on a motor like that!
Know you guys pain about houses, please take a little hint from me and don't pour your life soul and every penny you have into them, do things slowly, do things yourselves, keep some money back for your bikes if you can.
Been there, frustratedly struggling to get some cheap old bikes back together.
Ex UK, now in Adelaide. LC250/350. DT175. Shed full of sh1t in the vague form of dismantled rusty RD’s and RZ’s.

yeah, thanks for the tip.

Instead of buying in Melbourne, I am buying 45 minutes down the road in Geelong.

The house prices go from $500,000 in western suburbs to 320,000 in Geelong plus you get more land, its right on the beach, and with a CBD that supports nearly 200,000 people so has everything you need.

That way my partner and I can pay off the house in under 10 years while also enjoying life.

In good news, some of the money from this sale will be put towards finishing off the KTMito and getting it onto the track, which I hope will be just after winter :)

This is why we should be modifying the subject of the original post, not just replying to say it's sold.

Greg, if you look a few posts up from the bottom, you'll see it's been sold.
