Just reliving my youth

Hello everyone , A great site you have here . Well , A little while back I bought a rd250lc which was the same type and year that supplied myself with my L's and P's .
Loved that old girl , Rode it from the central west of N S W to Mackay Q L D twice. May I just add don't think the old bum would be able to do it now .
Well I better get around to the point then , Well I got the yammy for a good price ( well at the time seemed good ) , But have realized I have a big job ahead of me .
First the engine had been running lean on one bank ( cracked inlet rubber may have been a cause ?) which resulted in a nice little hole in the piston , no switch gear on the left hand side , no compliance plate (will this make it difficult to register ?) the frame number ends in 000010 , so she is a early one I believe . engine number doesn't match . all side panels are there , but cracked around the mount points , tank is all good except for the shallow dint in the top ( maybe some air may pop it out ?) clocks need attention (held together with cable ties ) , front brake master is a rd aircooled item , no keys so will need to sort that out also , My ideas for the bike are to keep it looking standard as possible with an upgrade of the motor and some pipes . Would like to go with the Athena 392cc kit (do these fit to the RDLC cases ?) will not be stroking it at this stage , but would like something that has good midrange , rather than out and out performance . Also a upgrade brake package , like the look of the triumph calipers . Well I have some ideas in my head , but it will take time as I would like to do it rite the first time and enjoy the end result . Will upload some pics when I get a chance , but please bare in mind it will take some time for the build . ok I will list some bikes I have had , Greg
RD250LC , RD350 AIRCOOLED , XT500 , GSX1100 , XR600 TWIN CARB , YZ100 AND ZZR1100
