WTB- RZ350R Frame

Post by Greasemeup »

As above, anybody have one for sale?

Should have compliance plate and visible frame number.

Should be 1AH (350) or 1GA (250)

Cheers,

GMU

I guess I would consider an RDLC frame as an alternative..

Seems a solution has presented itself.

Spoke to an old 350 racer who says he has a few spare R frames & parts [emoji1]

I will find out in a couple of weeks, can't wait.

No luck yet with this RZ frame.

Good to see there are bargains to be had, one just went in Adelaide ( ebay ) for $1.29 :)

Bugger, I bid $1.04 on that. Feck, they're getting expensive.

That frame was split by the side-stand, as they're apparently prone to. Can you get those repaired GMU?
If you want me to keep a real eye out for one I will, let me know the condition and requirements.

Nothing that minor couldn't be repaired, it's just steel after all. FYI I am talking as a Boilermaker. IMO it's better to get one that doesn't need repair though, if it's in that visible condition it's had a hard life, what's there that can't be seen?

Yes please, I would like to get a frame, let me know if there is something reasonable that pops up.

Thanx BRG..

I'll keep an eye open, I would have chased that one just for the sake of it coz it was cheap and local, but working a lot and kids, didn't check on it.
As far as I know the frames from 83 to 85 are the same apart from fairing brackets, and the 85 swingarms went square ended but the linkages were the same. Let me know whats acceptable and what isn't. No promises, but will keep a "watching brief".
Just collected an 83 RZ tank for fifty bucks, a mate picked it at a swappie on my behalf. top is nice but the bottom's full of holes. Bugger. Things turn up but they always need work.

I'll keep an eye open. Return favour, if you could keep an eye out for a workable RZ250R fairing bracket ;-) Mine's bent to buggery but everything else is workable (bodywork etc).

BRG, contact LB, he may have a spare, as I know he bought a couple from overseas but that also means that they wont be cheap if he has :/

I have/had (it may have gone to the scrappy already, im not sure) aftermarket birdcage if it helps? its pretty rough n ready tho.

Actually have you tried gently bending it back, they are 99% of the time out of shape and always need a tweak on any bikes thats been dropped...

thanks Jon.
you know when kids chew a milkshake straw? Thats kinda what the birdcage looks like, think its been bent around a few times, though everything else is in reasonable or good order bodywork wise. Engines seized and all the aluminium bits are white fur or kackered, but this RZ250R is a loooong term back of the queue project.

SOLVED!!

Picked one up, almost from around the corner , today :)

It's a 250 frame, looks straight, needs a blast and coat.

What do you think of a candy / cherry red?

How much is a blast?

How much is powder coat?
