RD250 Petrol Tank

Post by Bunsen308 »

I have recently pulled my bike out of storage to start restoration and it requires a new tank. If anyone has a tank to suit LC RD250 please let me know

Also I may consider selling bike if price is right

Thanks Wayne

Wreckers wont have much LC now, and defo no tanks I would say, us guys have been scouring the small ads, ebay and calling wreckers for a while now. They do come up on ebay/gumtree but it could be a bit of a wait.

Have a bit of a google and a search on here, DuncanB had one and it was not good.

How bad is your tank? Might be easier just to get it repaired.

OK I have a spare and it is very good condition but the prick I bought ot from didn't pack it well and it got a ding in the front while being shipped (his eBay feedback was not very positive lets say). So I would be happy to sell it - it owes me over $750 (yep that's what one will cost you that doesn't need $1000 spent on it) but given the ding I'd accept a little bit less (which is mid $600's). If your interested let me know and I'll post a photo. Now before you all start insulting me with how expensive that is I had to turn two tanks into one for my LC and I can tell you with the cost of the second tank, painted and decalled there wasn't any change out of $2K. But shit it looks awesome!!!

I reckon thats actually good value if they are painted. ship it in smaller shipments and you may not pay imports even.

Plenty of guys have used citric acid to clean out their tanks.

Photo bucket account links work for pictures. Be organised from the start, any photo you move or delete will break the link on this page..

Photobucket is easy and you just use the tags that say IMG in them.

Dont worry, Rust is no problem, dents neither. put up the pics, Ive restored all sorts of junk, many things are possible with tanks :)
