Suzuki GT500

Post by TrevorGT500 »

Hi,
Unfortunatley I have caught the 2 stroke bug !.

I have just finished building a RG250, currently on Ebay.

I have now purchased the next project, a basket case GT500. Rather than restoring, thinking of turning it into a "Street Fighter" style with upside down forks, 17" wheels, expansion chambers, etc. Wondering if anyone has experiences with these modifications, and can offer any input. Specifically any issues I may encounter with NSW registration, handling issues fitting 17" wheels. Appreciate any help advise. Thanks Trevor

I apologise for dredging old posts (I've only been here a few days - going through old stuff) - but that's 2 stroke porn, right there - beautiful ... :)

Hi Trev. Just my tuppence worth but I feel that if the parts are too far out of step they don't marry up so well. The bike above looks right because the parts aren't generationally too far apart.
Good proportions and so on are what make a looker, but my feel is that the whole needs to look like its made to be together :-)
