Michelin M45 tyres 3.00 and 3.50 x 18 RD LC fitment SOLD

Post by JonW »

As the title says really.... I have a set of Michelin M45 tyres in the correct fitment for the RDLC as well as a bunch of other bikes of that era.

Both been used, but still have plenty of tread, $100 the pair. Pickup only really, I dont want to post unless I really have to....

Funky tread pattern.
I'd have em, but postage as you say would be a pain in the arse.
My entire scrapyar... er, collection need new tyres.

I can try n weigh them and get post price if you like, I guess they dont need a box as they are rubber so cant really be damaged by Auspost, let me know if thats useful?

Blimey, dunno wtf it is with this website, this is the first time I've been able to get on it for a couple of weeks and its not playing nice today. Still, in the meantime I've made a deal on a $400 RZ250, so the rusty fleet expands :-)
Interested if you could find out the postage, going to need tyres generally :-)
I'll pm my email address as I probably won't be able to get back on the site reliably if at all. ;-)
Jeez, I would pm, but having trub even posting, dmclynn@hotmail.co.uk

Checked out some prices and wow... I dont think we want to be using Auspost to send anything like this. Regular parcel post on a set of these tyres is something like $95 from Sydney to Adelaide...

So... reluctantly I guess these are 'pickup only' now :/

Well I did... and got this:

Sorry, we are unable to perform a coupon calculation for the requested pickup and destination. Please contact us on 1300 PLEASE (1300 753 273) for assistance.

Pointless website imho. That quote was from nsw 2000 to SA 5000 and I tried a few differnet permutations of the post codes, same happens with brissy 4000.

I have had stuff sent to me using Fastway, a set of wheels incl tyres from bris a few years back was only $25! B ut when I tried their site it says:

Error occured: Cubic weight must be less than 25kg!. The actual value is 70.

the parcel is something like 75x75x50cm hence the volumetric / cubic weight of course... even tho its round.

Michelin M45 tyres 3.00 and 3.50 x 18 RD LC fitment

Post by Greasemeup »

Sorry :(
My calcs came out at .28xx cubic, perhaps if you put it in for one tire only? Then stick the other to it, they don't measure on pick up, they just guesstimate & compare the con note, near enough is OK.

.75x.75x.4 is .225.

This should work.

no worries, was worth a try.

The silly thing is that its the same price to send the tyres as it is wheels and tyres as they are the same size and within the same 'cubic weight'.

The annoying thing is that some smaller but heavy parts are cheap, ie I had some forks sent to me a few months back... $9.95 was all it took.

In fact I could add a bunch of LC and RZ parts in there for those that wanted some fo those with essentially 'free shipping', depends on what people want from what im selling i guess LOL! :D

Ooh! Ooh! The site let me on for once!
Jon, ignore the email I just sent you, postage has obviously become a pain in the arse generally.

No worries, I just hate people to pay a sensible price for something and then the post make it OTT, I'll drop you an email back.

Thanks Jon, why you even cleaned and blacked them, what old fashioned service ;-)
They'll look good on the RD400 unless the RZR makes quick progress
