Model designation

Post by Greasemeup »

Photobucket works best.

I can't wait to see the 400 fairing on it. The most stand out feature of the 400 though was the slightly more than half tube things sticking out the side covers.

I guess the same applies to the "wings" on the RG Duck Tail.

Ha know what I mean :)

I have photobucket but don't know how to attach the image I created in photobucket to this reply.
I can only remember the round pods on the rear of mt GSX-R 400 that were indicator mounts on their domestic market. On my first ride on the RG I got a bit of a shock when I saw the red light flashing below the Japanese writing until it twigged that it is a 80KPH speed warning light, wonder why they wrote this in Japanese ? My first ride through the mountains was great, love that 2 stroke howl, great stoppers too.

Once you upload your image to photobucket, click on the "IMG" button which will copy the link, then paste it into your thread.

Hi James, no your's reminds me of a bike set up for Le Mans, very interesting fairing setup though. Not sure if my image uploaded as per Greasemeup's instructions, hope so. The image you sent is of a very tidy machine/bodywork, even in my trips to Nagoya I have not seen anything like this & there were some strange & wonderful bikes there.

The bike in the pic looks well funky, never seen any production RG with twin headlights, no idea what you've got if it has two.

Hi BRG, at first I assumed it was a modified GSX-R 400 fairing as I had one of these back in 86 & the fairing was similar however remembering it is an import there are a few small differences to the Oz delivered ones like the gauges contain a fuel gauge. The fairing bracket appears to be a genuine product in that it is a quality frame so I'm not sure what the deal is but I like the twin setup (a la GSX-R 400,750 & 1100) far more than the rectangular one so I'm happy with it.

Have a read of this to see how to post pics from photobucket.

forums/1/980

I also fixed your other post where you tried to post the image.
When you paste the stuff from photobucket, there is no need to use the "Img" button here.
Just paste the code straight in from photobucket.

Three Thumbs Up buddy,

That looks like it could have rolled out of the factory like that in, say 1989ish.. -90.

Cheers.

December 1985 actually, mid fairings are missing, pity they would finish it off nicely if I could get my hands on a pair.

Model designation

Found this link, I had the one with the fairings that cover the exhaust, but not in WW livery, orange, red, white.

Before that I had the HB yellow & white one.
