TZR 250 Deltabox re-vamp

Post by jimmyjumpbuck »

Hi all,
I am restoring an 86 TR250 which is completely stripped down and in pieces. I have glass bead blasted the Alu parts, then hydroblasted them to give them a smoother, slightly shinier look, (and to make all the surfaces look uniform) . I would like to get them back to original and I know that they were anodized, but can anyone tell me what the anodizing coating is called. I have had a few different answers ranging from "hard clear", "clear", "brite Clear" etc. Thanks for the help.

Anodising is kind of an electro-plating. It's not something you can paint on.

You can clear anodise - it's basically just the regular anodising process without using any coloured dye.
The shine you get from the anodising process is directly related to the product before it's anodised. So if you want the brushed aluminium look, brush it before hand. If you want it shiney, polish it etc
