The one that's on Evil Buy now & the "Brand New" one,

It annoys the living crap outta me that no one will bother to ask me the facts,
they just make up their bullshit & run with it,
Hi Baffled (nee Evil Dwarf)! long time no hear, good to have you on the forum. The red/black/white RG500 is my favourite out of all the colour schemes - looks lovely, good luck with the sale.

Hope all is well with you and yours.

Cheers, Richard.

I was actually going to suggest a chest bump, I can get really good 'air' doing them as I've been practicing lots in the garage whenever my wife locks me in there when she starts on one of her rants which is always proceeded with 'you spend so much time out there anyway why don't you just live in the garage!'

Truth be told its not actually a bad idea, I reckon there's enough height to put in a mezzanine floor with couch / fold out bed etc. That way I could say good night to my bikes each night or perhaps even give them a brief hug before I tuck them in, maybe sing them a lullaby? I've had plenty of practice with my daughter and I'm sure the bikes are unlikely to respond by saying 'I want to go the toilet daddy', which, thinking about this, would only be handy if the bike was about to shit itself, so it cold forewarn you and give you time to pull in the clutch....

What were we talking about?

Rich, has your bike ever had a headache ? Does your bike bitch and moan once a month ? Does it ever say no ? Does it have its own credit card ?
That Mezzanine floor must be looking pretty good right about now eh ?

If your shed is big enough for a mezzanine, I'm jealous.
I badly want a shed I can put a hoist in.

OK "Whats an RG500 really worth ?" This thread was started almost 4 years ago Sept 21 2010. So how far have we really come ?

HM31a said
OK so what are they really
5k, 6k, 8k 10k 12k
so what did you pay for yours?

Wheels999 said
Not running ratty ones about $9,000.

Pristine ones about $15,000 to $20,000 if you can find someone who will sell theirs.

Grotty said he was offered 27k and.....
No, it's a genuine 5000Km Australian model with FULL service history, original manual/warranty book, every pink slip and rego since new, all change of ownership receipts etc.

My RG500's are my retirement fund!

Fred999999au said
"I have a 3x new RG500s here in the box and 5x new RZ500s"

Fred also said "Spewing I didn't get to see what collector said."

I probably called you a wanker. Please refer back you your dumb arse posts.

Baffled has a new one which I have seen and is "new" in every sense of the word. 100%

So having waffled on and quoting from past posts the question remains
"what is an RG500 worth ?"

a) in pristine condition (pristine meaning as new and sub 5000kms)
b) very tidy but not quite there
c) 30 000kms and ok or passable
d) requires significant work and replacement of parts.
e) needs lots of love and been through the mill.
f) basket case.
g) modified

Problem is = its not a case of saying i`ll spend "X" amount of $$$ on the bike to make it showroom. You just cant get the F*Cking parts come hell or high water. So how unobtainable are these bikes in "pristine" condition and is any keeper willing to sell them ?

Thoughts ???

Are they worth buying at all, who would spend the money on "A, B or even C" these days then actually ride it?

I had one, paid 5.5k for it in 01, flogged the rings off it until the disc valves separated then sold it for 6.2k in 07, best $700 bucks I ever made :rotfl:

To put this to bed, they are worth what someone is willing to pay for them. No more, no less.

If money was no concern, I would happily make one of those "NOS" RG500's very second hand!

I created a new forum called projects and moved my thread there so it doesn't get buried.

Anyone else who has a project thread that wants it moved, let me know where it currently is or what its called etc and I will move it to the projects forum for you.
Mine is here:
phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=985

Or I also have a project page with the 500 and the Mustang here:

No malice intended Baff, just having a bit of a giggle trying to lighten up the chit chat.
Righto, so you can have a bit of a giggle and lighten up the chit chat and I'm a wanker for doing the same. Yet you've not added a single thing more to the thread, which as I recall is an unanswerable question.

Fair enough. I know where you stand.
