2 Strokes Down Under

Anyone know what product I can use on the dial faces to clean them with out dissolving the markings.

Oil or greese to the gearing on the speedo counter.

Any help appreciated

These are easily ruined sadly, see if you can find some better dials. Ive hear that even water can take the paint off :/ Go very slowly.

I have a dial that i swapped out if you get stuck, but its one i swapped out for a better one, so not very black.

light oil. dont put enough to get it on the dial.

I have a old face might use that as a guinea pig.

I have 2 temp gauges

1 returns to its stop slowly I think that is what it should do.

Other one returns quite quickly.

Any idea how they should behave.

They are usually a bit damped but so long as they work when +12v is applied then they will work. Check the manual but they earth thru the temp sender and its that resistance that sets the temp, so straight 12v will send it rocketing so just touch it. if it moves, then it works. Accuracy isnt a thing as such lol

Rz Clock face cleaning Products review

Okay I finished the clocks on the weekend , I was lucky to get my hands on a couple of sets however they were quite dirty.

I used a broken face as the test surface

I tried Glass cleaner worked ok did not remove any of the black or white/red/green colours.

Used A silicon based wheel cleaner which is very effective in restoring colour to black plastic, no damage to the black or other colours.
This product cleaned better than the glass cleaner.

WD40 worked a treat cleaned the surface and surrounding colours no damage and added a layer of depth that wasn’t present before.

I used a micro fibre cloth to apply and lightly buff off.
I then used compressed air to remove any residue fluff left behind from the cloth.

The Clock faces have come up very well.
