How much oil in LC forks?

Post by BRG1200 »

How much oil do you guys out in your standard LC forks?
Mine are rebuilt with new seals but seem a bit saggy.
Ex UK, now in Adelaide. LC250/350. DT175. Shed full of sh1t in the vague form of dismantled rusty RD’s and RZ’s.

I use the air gap method personally D, although I would have to check my service manual to quote you the actual figure. I also use 10wt oil to firm up the action.

+1

you can add more oil if you think it will help, but go easy. Its probably the springs that are toast tho.

Yeah, I’ll have the forks out again and measure spring length, but you’re probably right regards tired springs.

almost all yam springs were too weak when new, they will almost certainly be short and weaker now :(
