Whom wants to know the secret of keeping the PV's in check.....permanently?

First is start with a good power valve, if the hole in the end of the valve is elongated , throw it away !
Machine a replacement collar out of bronze/brass. The hardened shaft then bears on the brass/bronze not on the 'cheese' aluminium. Much more positive operation and they never go out of adjustment.
Replace the cable plate screws with allen heads(you will destroy the phillips heads getting them out anyway) you'll be sweet
