KR250 gasket kits

Post by Viperone »

Hello 2 strokers,
I am wondering where I can buy a gasket kit for a KR250 A1 1984. Also chasing a seal for the water pump. Any feedback would be appreciated.

2strokeinstitute would be the one to know...

also, if you cant find the answer here, try the KR1 forums :)

Base gaskets are still available fron Kawasaki for about $8.60. The substituted Part# is 11060-1389.

Hmm this is a timely thread, I have just emailed someone in the US about making some head gaskets based on a template. I am getting a price for some just for me and then a bigger order (he may do 20 cheaper than 2) for putting out there to other suckers, err I mean tandem twin owners.

:)

Cheers,

also why are you getting someone in the US to make the gaskets?

could you just get the right material and get it done at the laser cutters?

you could get quiet a few made for a hundred bucks :)

There is someone in Sydney that will make a head gasket from copper. I dont have any contact details for them but someone might. Also I got copper head gaskets for my RG400 from Copper Gaskets Unlimited in the US for $50 plus postage last year. They will make you some if you have the original if not I can give you one.

Ridgecrest Engineering in Melbourne make copper gaskets, one off all the time. They supply all the drag boys so a sample to them should see your problem solved.

I have used their gaskets and pistns before without any issues but having said that I have not tried he KR gaskets. I would expect the head gaskets to be 50/50 as is usually the case with pattern head gaskets.

I reckon I'll give them a go, can only leak oil, or suck in a gut of air and lean out, blow up like it did on previous owner!
