Stroker work update.

Post by strokerman »

Got my 500 as mentioned in the bike mover posts I did earlier. I'll move current info here to the correct forum. Said to be a 2 owner machine. Done quite a bit of work to it , general tidy up and working through it learning whats what. She's had a pro tune up by the old bike shop boys, pulled and stripped carbs and changed jets, but she still needs more. Got rego and COF for Qld. Tanks and side cover have all been pulled and sent to fat budda's chop shop for metalic spitfire black pro paint job. I know some will say its no longer 74 original but I personally are not a fan of the candy colors, for me anyhow. She is going to be black and chrome only. Got the red infill in the "500" and "Suzuki" badges now chrome . Got a pro made black sheeps skin cover on seat for comfort in hot Qld - saves getting a bad sweat rash up the backside on hot long rides. Its been a good op to go over everything while the tanks are off. New fuel lines, tidied up wiring, petcock seals, indicators, tightened up all nuts and bolts gently! - (aluminium strips VERY easily). Think I'll ditch the basket carrier and replace it with the bar type only. Here's some pics. More next week when the tanks are back. When I get it all going I'll try and hook up with the local 500 boys & chew the 500 fat.

cheers
