found anyone to do the work yet?
if your really struggling to find someone I might be willing to have a look at it for you.
Although I dont know the MVX250's very well,
but its a two stroke, tear down and rebuilds arnt that complicated.

Its a pommie site for all strokers started by a few nuts with varied taste. Their bike feature in Practical Sportsbikes a lot, check out the link

Having watched a tidy running example of this 2T triple going well the other day, I'd thought..
..that some may find this local re-appraisal of the 'dreaded' MVX 250F.. to be of interest..

Can anyone recall an earlier Honda 2T road bike?
(Not counting MT enduro/trail machines).

Can only think of things like Elsinore dirt bikes.
Cripes, that middle conrod is a monster! Terrible solution. That puts me off any vague thoughts of picking up a cheap MVX at some point! Makes the motor look like a bit of a grenade, and I'll bet engine spares will be practically unobtainable.
Honda seemed obsessed with being (unnecessarily) "different" in the early eighties, and this is their "WE DO VEES" obsession. If they'd been more logical we'd have had a parallel twin liquid cooled two stroke in a VT250/400 frame, and the NS400R would have been a 500.

Why Honda worried about the vibes an ~82cc piston makes - is bizarre..
I wonder if anyone has rebuilt an MVX crank with identical ( all lighter-type ) conrods ?
