Wow!!!That's a big call.
2T's generally grab your attention anyway but that's a well specified Rocket Ship you are putting together there.
you can run an athena 421 on the mikuni 26s, Roger got good power from them, but to open it up you need bigger carbs really. I have PJ34s, but for full power you probably want 38s, but space will be an issue...
I'd say the smaller carbs will be great to ease you into the bike as it will flatten/smooth out the powercurve nicely by giving you more bottom end, more midrange and a less peaky top end.
If you feel the need to upgrade to PWK 30-somthings later on its only a couple hundred dollars.
I was very suprised that your still running the OEM RZ350 reeds.
Generally most people ditch the 80's reeds and replace them with Vforce -3 reed cages straight away.
the following 4T propaganda was brought to you by your local 2T lobby group...
"whats that youve got there?... a 450? "
yeah...
"what cereal packet did that come out of? "
huh?...
"I just wanted to know, because theres nothing worse than finding a piece of shit in the bottom of your corn flakes. "

Well, here I am with the 250 still running 25 year old, original Yamaha reeds. Don't I feel like the fool. I was putting the lower performance down to the extra 30 kilos I have stacked on since I used to use the bike as a regular commuter.
I still like the idea of having never taken the manifolds, or carbies off. I think I have only changed the plugs twice and the PV controller once.
It does need a new PC cable on one side though, and maybe a de-coke.
I wasn't having a go Jon, I was have never though about it that's all. I'll let Jeram take it for lap and get his opinion when the front wheel is back in it..
The 421 will have V force 3 reeds, but it just never occurred to me to replace the reeds in the 250.

No worries, didnt think you were, I was just making sure anyone reading this later understood that I was talking about a 421 and not a 250. Tho upgrading to VF3 (perhaps the new 4s?) would probably be good on a 250, but i dont know anyone who has done it.
Well i have been gone a while not sure if many people remember my little one but she is now mostly complete thanx to a couple friends and a lot of patience!
