Well it was Aust post that actually mugged me as it turns out. So I have had to lodge a complaint form to look for my books and now they have lost the form as well. This could take a while.

Well, that is going to guarantee that it is opened by customs and they will probably use the old hotspanner to do it, thereby setting fire to any manual contained therein.

Aus post called me yesterday to tell me they can't find my parcel. So obviously there has been a breakdown in communication somewhere or someone can't read. I informed him that I got the parcel and thats why they can't find it but some contents were missing. Anyway we now have to start looking through the dead letter dept and as everything there has to be inspected manually and then entered into the system manually it can take months to arrive in the system. I have to call every week now and get them to look in there, not holding out any hope.

I had given up on ever seeing my books or money again but yesterday a letter came in the post along with a money order for $70. That's about what I was out of pocket for so I have to give them credit for coming good.

I don't really care anymore about it and getting some compo out of it is even better. I have since bought a second NS400 book for a lot less and am going to sell the MC18 anyway so its all worked out well.
