Fun weekend 1st 500 p4, 2nd 350 p4, 3rd p3 250. Below are some links to a very rare 1962 Yamaha yds2 race bike, have a look at where it all began for 250 twin Yams. Thanks Link

Hi Link,
In the photobucket site when you're viewing a pic, on the right hand side there is a box that says "Links to share this photo". If you click the text beside Image

What's with the front brake Links?

Image

I can't pick it. Hub side looks Jap but short cam arms and cable at the back looks Euro.

Plenty of room there to get to the carbs :P - ah, the joys of vintage racing :D .

Looks and interesting racer, lots of owner mods I would guess.

(Okay, okay, I'm off to the garage now. Found the barrels I just have to remove them, check, measure and photo them, and I'll get back to you 8) .)

Hi the front brake is actually t500 as i had heaps laying around but it kept getting too hot with the race linings so it had a scoop which is sort of a TD1C

I wouldn't have picked a T500 because of the brake torque anchor/plate. I knew the T500 as a lug anchored f/brake. The cable straight up the back is different (and lots better IMHO) as well. IIRC the biggest advantage of the T500 had was it was an 8 inch rather than the more popular 7 inch, and had about 50% more swept area.

You must be braking bloody hard to have heat issues :P . Although I remember losing the brakes to brake fade on the YDS5 after 3-4 downhill 120 to 40 braking efforts in the Kangaroo Valley back when I was a boy - what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger :D .
