Re: RZ250 Rebuild!

It’s been a couple of weeks and we’re on the home stretch now. All electrics finished, tank picked up, exhausts on, and waiting on the weather to clear to paint the fairings. https://i.imgur.com/v3lf2jP.jpg https://i.imgur.com/6vfBaKi.jpg https://i.imgur.com/2JyErp3.jpg https://i.imgur.com/LsmekAi.j...

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!

Bit of an update, exhausts back from the Powdercoater, but more exciting is the tank is done. Haven’t had a chance to pick it up yet but looks amazing and such a difference. https://i.imgur.com/DpcpH1F.jpg https://i.imgur.com/9K4LZqQ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/tucxk90.jpg https://i.imgur.com/vLZXHc3.jp...

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!

Thanks for the information.not sure if it's better to rebore the cylinders ,can they be re sleeved or better off new.also what are the aftermarket radiators like on eBay. I picked up an alloy radiator off eBay and we’ve had to make a few adjustments to fit. Quality seems good, but obviously won’t k...

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!

Ahh, I thought you'd done the crank seals? After all this time I would be defo doing these on a neglected bike. Also... yambits is fine for many things, but not everything, er crank seals... only and always fit OEM crank seals. The others lack the teflon lip coating. Im sure there was a thread on h...

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!

Yeah I’m really pleased how it’s all coming together. Hoping to have it on the road by July/august all going to plan. Should be getting the exhausts back from the powder coater this week. Forgot to post the grab rail that I picked up from the chromers yesterday. https://i.imgur.com/tYXxSwM.jpg

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!

Bit of an update after a while! Engine has been pulled apart and looks very good inside. Waiting on a new clutch basket as it was damaged on removal due to a nut that must've been installed by a hammer. https://i.ibb.co/Pzy0H1z/DSCN1400.jpg Some happy snaps of the motor https://i.ibb.co/q0z0JCm/DSCN...

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!

Bit more shopping done!
Aluminium radiator ordered and bits to rebuild the brakes.

New windscreen too as the old one was in really poor Nick and I prefer clear over smoke.

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!

After the joys of a Covid iso the rebuild had a bit of a pause, but she is slowly getting there. Dropped the tank off yesterday to a restorer. Not cheap, but his work is incredible. Also ordered a pair of bt46 Bridgestones. Stanchions have been replaced and shocks polished, rims have also been strip...
