Re: RZ250 Rebuild!

This thread has spurred me on to contacting a crowd in the UK (Metal Magic at Heritage Motor Works) that do this sort of work and I am now contemplating taking my F2 tank over to them when I go over next month. I will post my experience on here if I go down that path. Not sure if costs yet but will...

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!

No luck with resto as yet which is a shame, so looking like it's working with the tank I have, and hoping it comes up as good as his previous work! Bag of goodies to rebuild the front shocks should arrive Monday, new chain and sprockets arrived, new grips arriving next week. Looks like both master c...

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!

She's had a hard life, his quote allows for sandblasting, cutting the bottom out, removing all bronze that the previous person used, butt weld new section, pressure test, and prime. For the hours needed, it's probably where it needs to be. Here is his page - looks like he does good work based on pic...

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!

So back to step 1 with the tank.
Spoke to someone who specialises in vintage bike restoration and has just recently done a few of these tanks.

Rough estimate is between $1200-$1500 to finish in primer.

Re: RZ250 Rebuild!

Repro LC ones can be purchased out of the UK but I don’t believe anyone has started reproducing a correct copy of the power val...

RZ250 Rebuild!

Hi Guys, Long time lurker who purchased a complete, but neglected RZ250 3 years ago. After pulling it apart, I bought a boat and lost motivation to do the rebuild... Move forward a year and I got the frame powdercoated, and then Covid hit and lost motivation again. Now finally, the rebuild has start...
