Re: RZ250 carbies
that looks like the right combination of left n right, ie one (right?) has holes that the other doesnt. Defo need to find something to eat that oxidisation and see whats left and go from there really.

Re: New member
sounds like youve got a great plan, I for one am all for adding different parts from other bikes and making stuff you have work to get a working or better bike from it. Im excited to see what you come up with. One tip: If youre trying to get a bike running that hasnt run properly in yonks, change th...

Re: New member
Yep, Im sure youre right D. Sadly it'll eat stainless steel pipes in around a year as it keeps all the moisture in. terrible stuff, see it on performance cars owned by kids all the time. pay thousands for exhausts and then ruin them with wrap. 'its racing kit, donchakno!'. yeah...

Re: RZ250 carbies
Its just a hole in the bottom isnt it? PWK 28s will work, but you will need to find jets that work on the 250, most people use them on 350s. The KX85 is the ones people usually buy, dont buy copies like OKO etc on ebay, they are not good. Put up pics of what you have, we are just throwing ideas in t...

Re: New member
I just always hope there is more to modding a bike 'into a cafe racer' than the usual 'removing the side panels and fitting an ebay seat' as they tend to be a so unimaginative a lot of the time. Its like the 'builder' has a hatred of rear bodywork lol. Hmmm... Do something new and clever if you want...

Re: New member
Welcome! I was with you until you said 'cafe racer', to be honest these are now too valuable to do that to, plus they make awful cafe racers. Youd be much better off with a 70s 4 stroke etc. Anyway, parts... Trooper Lu, Gladstone for local. Partzilla and CMSNL for abroad. Those are OEM. RDLCCrazy fo...

Re: Parts interchangeability - DT175 in this case but a general topic
yes, but what i was saying is that they dont use another 'bike' part of the part number for the same part on another bike. if they use the blaster part on a DT175, it will still have the old part number etc. Its why RZs have some 4L0 parts on them. What you can do is replace some parts of this stuff...

Re: Parts interchangeability - DT175 in this case but a general topic
If the part number is the same (the first 3 letters/numbers) then its the same part... if not its different some how. A lot of yam parts have the same middle part number as thats the bit that means 'clutch basket' etc. the first bit is the bike it originated on and the last bit is the revision. The ...

The removal of bubbles is exactly what tying the lever to bar does... I would still do this on your bike.

Re: Best fuel choice
In a modern car, especially one with performance, you will defo improve its running and milage with 98. Our old bikes, well... probably not.
I didnt say, but i always use 98 as thats all i ever have in a jerry can at home.
Defo dont use anything with any Ethanol as jethro says, its the devils work.

I have a mate who swears his bikes run better on 95 and has downgraded to that from 98.
I use 98, but its not like my bikes go anywhere these days lol

almost all yam springs were too weak when new, they will almost certainly be short and weaker now ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Re: Ferfuxsake
I would be surpised if a working master failed just after a swap of hoses. Sadly not all mechanics are good at everything D, Im sure weve been over that ground before. They are simple parts and are not hard to bleed, but you need to check all the joints to look for any chance air can get in and also...
