Re: 1979 DT250 Kicker and panels
Havent even unbolted the seat yet. Should be OK though as it has been standing under a gumtree for a few years apparently.

1979 DT250 Kicker and panels
Hi All. Just received a gift from a mate and it is lacking side covers and a kicker and side stand. Would prefer something local than going to fleabay in the US. Doesn't need to be mint, just functional, as this will be a rat rod... I tried a swag of kickers for my some of my other bikes none of the...

Assuming that you mean a polyurethane type pre-cast rod, you could try the likes of http://www.engplastics.com.au/

Re: turbocharged 2 stroke
Don't the Variable Vane turbos just have a "vane grille" to direct the exhaust gas onto the turbine blades at different angles in order to control the shaft speed and hence compressor boost?
Don't know how effective this would be at controlling backpressure.

Re: turbocharged 2 stroke
I'd venture that the snowmobiles might not have the ports open at the same time.
Wasn't that was the early benefit of the 2 stroke pipe designs and the acoustics/harmonics about them, the supercharging effect from the reversion pulse?

Re: Crafting a kr250a1 motor into a dirtbike frame ???
Wasn't that they way to define the perfect 2 stroke pipe? Once it is the right dimensions and size it cannot possibly fit the chassis or if it does, the bike wont move or lean?

Re: RGV250 Clutch and Electrics
Did the clutch work before you changed the cable? If so, why did you change the cable?
the hunting thing could be a battery or voltage regulator thing, maybe check the battery voltage with the lights off then on.

Re: Whats a RG500 Worth
No, not really, but I do have several rooted DT175s in the back yard. And a rooted IT200, and IT250 roller and a couple more rooted RZ250s stashed around the place. And a rooted DT250 and a rooted DT200.
I think you get the picture.
Spewing I didn't get to see what collector said.

Re: Registering interstate "barn finds" in South Australia?
Fred, you in SA? No, mate, Victoria, but things are very similar across the country. Some roadworthy requirements vary, especially the annual one up north but no documented history required. There is a national database of stolen and written off vehicles though. Offer still stands to help you minim...

Re: Registering interstate "barn finds" in South Australia?
Yeah, nah, no hope of ever getting them registered in SA. Just leave them in Vic and I'll take care of them. I wont even charge you for my trouble. Seriously though a compliance plate is the main thing and as long as a receipt from the previous owner accompanies, it should not be an issue outside th...
