Re: My Latest LC Project

I don't really go for looks as such - it will end up what it finishes as :? It will have a used Patina finish, keeping the stock LC tank with a race seat, if I can find one I'm comfortable with. That's always been a problem for a tall inarticulate bugger like me, as the joints ain't as bike friendly...

Re: My Latest LC Project

After a bit of a workshop revamp I got around to assembling the TZ700 top end on the LC Special. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f202/Jools58/LC350%20Special/P7030044_zpsaf736159.jpg It has TZ350G pistons with the backs cut away as per the TZ750D style. The TZ350G head didn't fit so I managed to f...

Re: My Latest LC Project

No, it doesn't allow me to use 17" wheels - only the 750 & unlimited classes - DOH! Since my last visit i had a few bits for the engine arrive to play with First up was a pair of straight cut primaries off a mate sale or return, depending how i found them. In reality it willbe a while beofr...

I thought it was a case that fatter larger volume pipes would give a better midrange ?

Re: My Latest LC Project

Just had a brain wave on the wheel front - My TZR 250F3 bike has wider 17" wheels and slicks which I will have to change for next season as the proddy class is being tightened up. If I stick a TZ750 cylinder on the bike, it will be 375cc and I can run it in the 500 class which then allows me to...

My Latest LC Project

:loopy: Having put the LC250 engine in the Spondon Roller I was left looking at the LC Rolling Chassis thinking it was a waste just sat there. I was originally going to restore it to a road special 250LC, but seeing how much the missing parts was going to be got me thinking (Always Dangerous) I'd ju...

Re: Cranks I will rebuild or buy cheap plus anybike parts bought

Actually, i'm beggining to think this may not be the most economic way forward. Its handy to have the ability to strip and assemble crankshafts, but given what the cost of a Banshee crank is and the small amount of machining required to make them fit the LC's cases i am having a double take ! I siez...

Re: Cranks I will rebuild or buy cheap plus anybike parts bought

I'm in the process of jigging up to do this. I can pull them apart at the moment for inspection - all the ones I had suffer the notorious big end journal marking. I've been talking with Lynn Garland and picking his brain for ideas to make a realignment jig that simplifies assembly without resorting ...

you are right on the nail Jon, too many projects and not enough folding stuff - its an illness. My latest infection can be seen here: http://rdlccrazy.proboards.com/thread/26544/new-project-lc250-tz700-top?page=1#scrollTo=235356 I should probably put a thread on here about it but I'm a lazy prick at...
