Re: New Member RD400C
I love you. Few love taps with an old panel hammer and the leak stopped dead. Negative on the fuel filters, only the one on the petcock. Now beers of joy instead of drowning sorrows. Any good tips on running in the top end? I've warmed the bike up on idle just blipping the throttle for a few mins bu...

Re: New Member RD400C
I've been away for a while and have just come back to getting the RD sorted. In answer to your question, it's not going real good to be honest. It's one thing after the other. I've finished the top end and checked oil pump timing etc. I started it today to begin running it in. Seems to start and run...

Re: New Member RD400C
No dice turning the stud with a punch. On taking the flange off, noticed the stud snapped off around 2mm inside the hole. Had a quick go but couldn't angle the punch very much without damaging the mating surface and thread. Pulled the pin before I knackered it. [attached] Probably try with the left ...

Re: An Interesting RZ500
Looks hot. Defo an MK II RS250 tail. Looks like it has/had a number plate??
I'd have it. Obviously hard to say without viewing but any thoughts on the price?

Re: New Member RD400C
Snapped one of the exhaust flange studs. Devastated.
Gonna try and bog it up temporarily and see how it goes.
Anyone going to this http://www.2014.throttleroll.com/

Re: New Member RD400C
Thanks mate, stoked. Ordered a dial gauge anyway so I can learn for futures sake. In saying that, I'm interested in the "Vintage Smoke" kit and will probably get one once it's run in. Got my barrels back from Peak Rebores and they look amazing. Thanks for the recommendation, glad I didn't ...

Re: New Member RD400C
Will I need to do ignition timing after putting the top end back together?
I was done prior to pulling the top end. Don't have tools or any experience with points.

Re: New Member RD400C
:like: Just got back from overseas and my parts have arrived :like: I opted for RD400 pistons that do not require modification. Got a gasket set also, the packaging was average for something that was to travel 17,000 kms. It came in pretty rough shape. What do you think of the head gaskets in the im...
